COUNSELLING@UNITED
Counselling@United has three qualified counsellors available to provide compassionate counsel, both for our church family and the wider Helderberg Basin. Hourly appointments can be made at the church office. This ministry also refers those who are being counselled to various other ministries within SWUC for further support or development as needed.
CARE FOR THE ELDERLY
Our elderly members are supported in various ways at SWUC:
-
A Mid -week service allows for connection
-
Pastoral visitors for the house-bound
-
Once a month V.I.P Tea for fellowship
-
We work closely with the Society for the Aged in Somerset West
PRAYER MINISTRY
Our Intercessors are available every week at the Sunday and Thursday services. A weekly group covers specific and confidential requests, which are sent in to the office communications brochures, email, sms and telephone.
MEAL SUPPORT
Family Matters visits members recently out of hospital or experiencing a crises to drop off a meal or two as a gift of encouragement.
Our Pantry Ministry packs parcels of non-perishable groceries for pensioners struggling to support themselves on a government grant. We also support households in crises and occasional once-off emergency situations.
HOSPITAL VISITORS
Our trained hospital visitors do daily visits to the region’s large medical facilities when members of our church family are hospitalized. We also visit members from Presbyterian or Congregational church towns further afield, such as Hermanus, Caledon or Grabouw.
